Amazing Grass Green Superfood is a popular product sold both in stores and online. A review for AGGS is a bit different, because due to its popularity, there are plenty of reviews out there.

As always, I will try to be as transparent and honest as possible, while still giving AGGS a fighting chance. AGGS is produced by Amazing Grass, an industry leader that boasts a pretty extensive product line, though I think AGGS is the favorite child, if you will. With a decent list of ingredients and a hefty nutritional panel, AGGS can hold its own.

I’m a big booster of the nutritional buffet that includes digestive enzymes, probiotics, some added fiber and an antioxidant panel. All of these added up makes for some pretty comprehensive, well-rounded nutritional bragging rights.

And the train doesn’t stop there! Broccoli, wheat grass, barley grass, spirulina, spinach, chlorella and alfalfa are the organic ingredients that pack a superfood punch for AGGS. With a decent 6-grams of produce per serving, AGGS is an excellent option for your morning green smoothie routine.

Amazing Grass as a company has their act together with marketing and product presentation. While that works great to sell the product and expand their markets, the downer for me is the ingredients listed in a comprehensive/combined label. This is so common, and really just a disappointment. I’d like to know exactly what I’m getting. Don’t combine it all together just to list an ingredient, even if only trace amounts.[hr]

The Good

Love the inclusive product line, even with the vague labels. You still know that you are getting some important, quality produce that greatly contributes to elevated health.

AGGS really has an extensive product line with excellent marketing. This leads to easily-attainable, high-quality products.

The Bad

While I do love the ingredients and the decent-sized grams per serving, it would be great to see some higher potencies as well as a clean-cut list of quantities. Breaking down the nutritional panel, you notice that with antioxidants, you are barely getting over a gram per serving. Same thing goes for the enzymes and probiotics—it’s nice to have them, but something heftier than ½ gram per serving would really boost the effectiveness of the product.

Also, the product label does not specifically list the sources of the superfoods. To determine the potency of produce-per-gram and evaluate the presence of any phytonutrients, it’s critical to know if we are dealing with powdered produce or powdered juice extracts.

AGGS’ taste is something that kicks it a few ranks lower than where it would otherwise rest. *More on this below.

Taste and Value

If you are new to the green smoothie world, you will definitely have to combine this mix with some nice yogurt, or some organic fruits and juices. The grassy taste and gritty texture is pretty far from anything that a newbie can really handle. Once you have acquired a green smoothie taste, you’ll probably be fine with the dirt/pasture combo.

Once all the ingredients and servings are broken down, we are looking at about $1 per serving, which is a great price. With 30 servings per container, and only forking over $29.99, AGGS is a great option. But, keep in mind that while per serving your cost is low, your potencies are also significantly decreased.

Compared to other reviewed products like Athletic Greens and Living Green Supreme Food that give you weighty grams of superfoods in combination with fiber, minerals, vitamins, enzymes, herbs, proteins, antioxidants and more.

The out-of-pocket expense is lower, but as per the usual, you get what you pay for.

Amazing Grass Green Superfood is backed by a well-known and highly trusted company, and will continue to do well under scrutiny. While it could be improved to carry a bit more weight nutritionally, it’s a great product that will help lead to healthier, better living.[hr]
